In May 2012 Fabian Alfie, faculty member of the Department of French and Italian, was promoted to Full Professor of Italian. Since August 2010 Professor Alfie has also been the Department Head.
Professor Alfie, who was tenured in 2003, saw two books come out in 2012: Dante's Tenzone with Forese Donati: The Reprehension of Vice (University of Toronto Press) and "Accessus Ad Auctores": Studies in Honor of Christopher Kleinhenz (ACMRS: Tempe), co-edited with Andrea Dini. These books were published on top of numerous articles and reviews over the past fifteen years, and an earlier book Comedy and Culture: Cecco Angiolieri's Poetry and Late Medieval Society (Northern Universities Press: Leeds UK, 2001).
