Reception to Launch the New Thematic Minor in Medieval Studies

When
4 to 7 p.m., March 6, 2014

There will be a reception to launch the new Thematic Minor in Medieval Studies at the Special Collections (Main Library) on Thursday, 6 March from 4:00pm-5:00pm.  All students and faculty are welcome!

The Thematic Minor is now available to undergraduate students in the University of Arizona, and several Italian courses can be applied towards it.  The courses include:

  • ITAL 250A: Italian Literature in Translation: The Middle Ages
  • ITAL 250B: Italian Literature in Translation: The Renaissance
  • ITAL 431: Dante's 'Divine Comedy'

Students can work toward a Thematic Minor in Medieval Studies for the first time in the history of the University of Arizona! This means that you will establish a thematic focus on the Middle Ages, studying it from many different perspectives from different departments across campus, including literature, history, religion, art history, philosophy, music, and political and social sciences. Even the history of medicine and science, possibly also the history of economics and law in the Middle Ages will apply.
