Italian Placement & Proficiency Exams

Have you previously studied Italian?

Take the Italian placement/proficiency exam today so we can place you into the correct level of ITAL, and get you credits/grades for the levels you place out of through the exam.

How to Take the Exam

The exam consists of 2 parts: online exam & oral exam.

Step 1

Take the online Italian Language Placement Exam, available 24 hours a day on the LPPE website.

Step 2

If you placed into ITAL 102, 201, 202, or 301 in Step 1, then you need to take the advanced test (i.e., a short oral exam in Italian). Please email Dr. Cavatorta to schedule your oral exam on Zoom.
