I created a movie-style trailer to help visitors from Italy learn about the different transportation options on our campus. Filming it was a blast. I explored the campus, capturing all the ways people get around, almost like a scavenger hunt. To make it engaging, I edited it like a real movie trailer, added music, and even recorded my own voiceover in Italian. It was not only a fun project but also a great way to practice my Italian.

Lauren Licardi
I am a Psychological Sciences major with a minor in Italian at the W A Franke Honors College. I am studying psychology with the goal of attending graduate school to earn my doctorate and become a clinical psychologist. I am especially passionate about working with military members and their families as I have many loved ones who have served or are currently serving, including my partner. I am also studying Italian because it is part of my heritage. My great grandparents immigrated to America from Durazzano Italy, but they did not pass the language down to their children so it was lost in my family. Now my grandfather, their eldest son, and I have been learning it together. And who knows, maybe it will come in handy if my partner and I are ever stationed in Italy.
