SITE Program
What is the SITE program? The SITE (Study Intercultural Training Experience) Program is a paid internship opportunity for English-speaking teaching assistants placed in schools throughout Lombardy, Italy. It is an opportunity for recent graduates from US Universities who wish to get a better understanding of the Italian language and culture, while assisting local teachers and getting professional training on teaching methods. The SITE Program is coordinated by the Gentileschi State Technical Institute in Milan. Every year we award 1 paid internship to one of our graduating seniors (BA in Italian).
Current Program Dates: October 1, 2026 - May 31, 2027

Migrants of the Mediterranean
This internship is the result of a collaboration between Migrants of the Mediterranean (MotM) and the French and Italian department at the University of Arizona, bringing together interdisciplinary academic expertise and community-based practice. By combining migration studies with Italian language and cultural analysis, this collaboration allows students to engage with migration not only as a policy or humanitarian issue, but also as a lived, narrated, and mediated experience. This internship provides opportunities for an intern to apply linguistic, cultural, and analytical skills to real-world media environments, while contributing to accurate, ethical, and accessible information sharing for the MotM community.
MotM is seeking a Migration Media Research Fall 2026 Intern to support the organization’s Social Media platform by monitoring migration-related Italian news and discussions on social media platforms and digital media, identify relevant and reliable information, and produce clear, concise news items and summaries for the MotM community. This is a prime position for someone seeking to apply existing knowledge of Italian and/or from their given field of study (Italian, social impact, non-profit management, marketing/communications, policy and more) to a meaningful semester-long opportunity with an intimate Arizona-based nonprofit. It is also a chance to be a part of a global cause of human rights in migration.
