Italian and the Humanities are Everywhere

“When we take a humanistic approach to any action we take, the impact is huge.”
Dr. Karthik Kannan, Dean, Eller College of Management

Italian, as part of the College of Humanities, is deeply connected to many disciplines across the University of Arizona. Our students often combine their Italian major with other academic interests, exploring connections between language, culture, and fields such as public health, architecture, engineering, and environmental sciences. Students from a wide range of majors also choose Italian to broaden their academic and cultural perspectives.

The study of Italian and the humanities connects past and present, revealing how culture shapes our everyday lives and encourages us to think critically about the world around us.
