It has helped me in my language and communication skills.

It has helped me in my language and communication skills.
I double majored in Italian Studies and Music Performance while at the University of Arizona, which offered me a multicultural perspective that I've carried through to a career in arts and culture. Since then, I've gone on to receive a Master's in Music at Boston Conservatory and an MBA at the Global Leaders Institute.
For several years, I served as the Education Manager and Marketing Manager for Silkroad—a non-profit and touring ensemble founded by cellist Yo-Yo Ma that brings together artists from around the world. I also work as a freelance artist, producer, and creative consultant, having founded my own agency, Almanak Creative, which works to support artists and arts organizations. Beyond that, I've had the opportunity to teach and present as a guest lecturer at Harvard University, Berklee College, New England Conservatory, and more, all of which was an outgrowth from my time studying and understanding arts, culture, and creative strategies.
The singular most important quality I gained from my education in the Humanities was being able to better understand and connect across cultures. My professional career has given me the opportunity to work with people from all around the globe, and learning how to reach across cultural differences was an important skill that continues to inform my daily life.
After graduating in 2020 with my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Italian Studies, I moved to Texas to complete flight training and eventually worked as a Medevac Pilot. Now, I am happy to be back at the University of Arizona, albeit temporarily, pursuing dual degrees in the Master's of Business Administration and Master's of Science in Finance programs. Post-graduation, I will be working in the Banking industry as an Assistant Vice President in Global Operations, while still flying for fun on the side. My Humanities education has allowed me to gain valuable perspective as well as communicate effectively and empathetically with a wide range of people in various professional environments. I am very proud to be an Alumna of the College of Humanities, and I would recommend it to anyone!

Humanities, in particular Italian Language, helped me get selected for a business trip to Milan in my first year of work, interacting with clients and traveling abroad on my own. I have kept involved in my Italian-American heritage in participating in the Italian American Future Leaders Conference.
At my company we are constantly adapting to other cultures and also relying on context to get the true intent of the message. Humanities has prepared me for this by not taking the translation literally but to have supporting evidence and context to understand in its entirety.
I speak Italian with corporate and translate for our store.
