Dolce Vita Club - Italian Thanksgiving

Indulge in an Italian culinary experience!

Ciao a tutti! 

You're invited! Come to the next Dolce Vita event: Italian Thanksgiving! 

Indulge in an Italian culinary experience by choosing one of three options to cook: orecchiette, fresh pasta, and paninis. Once everyone has made their food, you will sit down together and enjoy what you have made with fellow club members! The event will be held in Room 101 of the Shantz Building, which has a kitchen for cooking and a room to eat in.

This event is for members only, so if you have not paid your dues yet, you can pay at the event (dues are $8 for new members). Remember: these dues go towards all of the food and supplies needed for this to be spectacular!

Want to enjoy some popcorn as you watch the showing of Phenomena by the Department of French and Italian on the UA Mall? Then stop by the Dolce Vita Club's table located on the Alumni Plaza, just across from where the movie will be shown, and purchase a bag to munch on! This is also a great opportunity to learn more about the Italian club, meet some of the officers, and learn about their upcoming events!

Spooky Halloween Movie Night

Join us on the UA Mall for a frightening film!

Join the Department of French and Italian on Thursday, October 26th as we watch Italian film director Dario Argento's Phenomena! This 1985 Italian horror film will be sure to put you in a festive Halloween mood. The film will be shown in English for all to enjoy!

Playful Poetry Club

Come and play with language in a creative way!

You're invited to the first Playful Poetry Club of the semester! Students of any level of Italian are welcome to come and flex their creativity muscles by combining art and poetry (using a variety of mediums including clay, watercolor, Italian magazines and books, etc.) to create an original work. Refreshments and snacks will be provided to help creative juices flow.

Department of French & Italian Achievement Award, 2023

From French to Family Medicine

Studying French at the UA, Dr. Rachel Stringer (BA French and Women's Studies) learned more than just a language - she learned a new way of viewing the world. Dr. Stringer attended medical school at the UA before completing her residency in Family Medicine at Offutt Air Force Base. She is currently stationed in Alaska, where she serves as medical director for the Family Health Clinic and Ambulance Service in addition to providing care for military beneficiaries. Come learn how her background in the Humanities has been helping her in her trajectory.
